We held an orientation session for the instructors.
In the wake of AIU being selected as one of the participants in the Re-Inventing Japan Project, we held an orientation session for the instructors so as to gauge their interest in the PBL courses that will be offered by the University and bring them on board.
During the orientation, Dr. Yoshitaka Kumagai, Dean of International Collaboration, gave a presentation on the characteristics and features of the courses. In addition, information was provided on the launch of FCA, which would serve as a forum for academic exchange among Japanese and U.S. instructors who are teaching PBL courses.
The orientation sessions on the 12th and 13th were attended by 22 Japanese and nine U.S. instructors.
During the orientation, a number of practical inquiries were made, such as how to select students who can participate in the PBL courses, the timing and duration of PCB course offering, how to fill in for the instructors whose time will be dedicated to the PBL courses, etc.
