We held a seminar on the PBL courses, to which Dr. Heidrun Maurer, Assistant Professor (Maastricht University, the Netherlands), who was visiting Akita International University for a special lecture was invited as a lecturer.

In a lecture titled “Effective management of PBL courses for the best outcome,” Dr. Maurer, talked about how to effectively administer the PBL courses, drawing from her own experiences, as she mainly discussed the difference between the learning being “problem-based” and “project-based.”

During the seminar, there was a series of active discussions between the lecturer and the instructors, and especially the PBL instructors from the University-made in-depth inquiries on pedagogic details.
