We visited Katagami City and Akita City to prepare for the PBL course (May 29th-30th, 2013)
To prepare for the PBL course ECN376, which will be offered in conjunction with San Francisco State University from June through August of this year, Dr. Masahiko Agata, Visiting Professor, visited several sites in Katagami City and Akita City in Akita Prefecture on May 29th and 30th.
In this particular PBL course, the students will learn about marketing in tourism with the field study in California and the northern Tohoku region.
n the U.S., the students will concentrate on learning the theories of marketing and branding, while in Japan they will engage in the field activities related to marketing and branding in tourism with a focus on the Kanto Festival in Akita City as well as in the tour of the local brewery, festival, etc.
During the recent visit, Dr. Agata, Professor, visited Tenno Green Land and the brewery in Katagami City, the Akita Prefectural Museum, Kanto Festival Center, and the Akita Museum of Art in Akita City.
Based on the information gathered during the visit, we will prepare a detailed plan of the field trip to be made in Akita.
