A field study was conducted in Yuzawa City.

We conducted a field study in Yuzawa City, Akita on June 26th (Thu).

The participants of the field study visited Sampaguita No Kai, a support group for the married Filipino females living in Southern Akita; Mr. and Mrs. Mitsuya Watanabe who had been facilitating international exchange activities in the region over many years; and Ogachi Japanese Language School to conduct interviews as well as have conversations in small groups.

At Ogachi Japanese Language School, the students of the school broke up into several groups depending on their proficiency and needs, and a Japanese instructor was assigned to each of those groups. Many students of the school also volunteered to participate in the conversations, which included a care worker from Indonesia, a Filipino lady married to a Japanese husband, and a foreign ALT (Assistant Language Teacher).
