GSP394 GS Special Topic 65 Transnational Community and Immigrant Incorporation in Japan and the U.S. (2015 Spring June 22 – July 17, 5 credits)
This course is designed for AIU and the University of California-Berkeley students to study together about the dynamics and process of large-scale social transformations occurring in every part of the world today under the main theme of “immigration, family and community,” for two weeks in California and another two weeks in Japan. Not only do these changes form central themes of cultural, economic and political debates in any advanced society, but also the future of the nation hinges upon the new generations of youths growing up in social diversity and with multiple identities.
