AIU students participated in the Kayagasawa Cultural Festival

As part of the fieldwork in the PBL course "Community and Environment," AIU students participated in the cultural festival in the Kayagasawa region. An "International Makomo-pizza contest" was held during the festival, where the students and local residents cooked four types of pizza using Makomodake, and the best tasting Makomo-pizza was chosen by votes. The pizza that got the most votes was a Bruneian style Makomo-pizza that the students created.

The residents gave traditional performances in the festival, such as Kayagasawa Bangaku by the children and Teodori by the women's association. The students collected information about research topics chosen by each of the student groups through conducting inquiries with a questionnaire and interviews while interacting with the residents.
