You may click the link to switch the active language.<\/p><p><strong>Akita International University, 20th Anniversary Project<br \/>\nTheme: \u201cFuture possibilities of AIU cultivated by AILA (Applied International Liberal Arts).\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Target: 100 million JPY<br \/>\nFundraising Period: March 2019-March 2025<br \/>\nNumber of Donors: 469<br \/>\nFunds Raised: 72,327,455 JPY(as of March 3, 2025)<br \/>\nProgress Against Target: 72.3%<\/p>\n<p>Purposes of Fundraising:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Donations will be used to support our students\u2019 PBL activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>The knowledge our students acquir in the classroom at AIU will be applied to solve social problems in Akita and around the world in collaboration with our 200+ affiliated institutions in 50+ countries and regions. These challenges include issues like population decrease, depopulation, global warming, alternative energy sources, preservation of traditional culture and heritage, and local revitalization, to name a few.<\/ol>\n<p><strong>2. Donations will be used to improve student services\/support and to fund commemorative events.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scholarships for both current and international students will be expanded.<\/li>\n<li>A commemorative ceremony and other anniversary events will also be organized.<\/li>\n<li>To support students\u2019 career development, AIU will enhance opportunities for interaction between\u00a0 current students and alumni. Career development lectures and corporate information sessions will also be organized on campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tax Relief for Individuals:<br \/>\nThe income tax deduction system enables donors to deduct the donation amount (less 2000 JPY) from their total taxable income, for donations up to 40% of total taxable income.<\/p>\n<p>Tax Relief for Corporations:<br \/>\nCorporations can deduct donations over and above the allowable limit for regular deductible expenses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to donate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u3010Donation via Online Banking or a Financial Institution\u3011<br \/>\nYou can wire your donation directly to AIU\u2019 s 20th Anniversary Project through your online banking service or by visiting a financial institution and using their ATMs. The beneficiary for the three financial institutions listed below is Monte Cassim, Chair of the Board, Akita International University.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Japan Post Bank, Branch number 229, Checking account, Account number: 0123389 for online transactions, or kigo-bango: 02250-1-123389 for teller\/ATM transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Akita Bank, Kawabe branch, Branch number 261, Savings account, Account number: 1042416<\/li>\n<li>Hokuto Bank, Kawabe branch, Branch number 255, Savings account, Account number: 8106203<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you wish to donate through Akita Bank or a Hokuto Bank, please download <a href=\"https:\/\/web.aiu.ac.jp\/aiu20th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/20210601-revised-AIU-donation-form.pdf\">the special application form<\/a> so AIU can cover your transfer fees. If donating via another bank, you will be asked to to bear the transfer fees.<\/p>\n<p>\u3010Issuing a Receipt for Your Donation\u3011<br \/>\nWe will issue a receipt and snailmail it to your registered address once your donation is received. Please note that depending on your method of donation, it may take a few days to several months for the transfer to be processed. Allow a few extra days for receipt processing.
