国際教養大学ディベート部が世界ディベート大会に初参加

国際教養大学ディベート部は2015年12月27日（日）から2016年1月4日（月）にかけてギリシャのテッサロニキで開催された世界大学ディベート大会(WUDC : World Universities Debating Championship)に初出場しました。

同大会は世界最大のディベート大会で、ハーバード大学、オックスフォード大学、ケンブリッジ大学など世界の名門大学から約400のチームが参加、日本からも東京大学、京都大学、一橋大学、大阪大学、慶應義塾大学、早稲田大学等のチームが参加しました。

国際教養大学ディベート部のチーム（古村大和さんと大久保龍嗣さん）は、日本の大学の中では、チームポイントとスピーカーポイントのいずれでも1位、全チームの中でも総合184位でした。
今年は初出場で緊張した面もありましたので、来年は100位以内、いや10位以内を目指して頑張ってもらいたいと思います。

反対の立場でディベートを進めます

AIU Debating Society participated in World University Debating Championship (WUDC) 2016, held at Thessaloniki in Greece from Dec. 27, 2015 to Jan. 4, 2016.

WUDC is the largest debating championship in the world with the participation of almost 400 college teams all over the world including Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge University, as well as the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Hitotsubashi University, Osaka University, Waseda University and Keio University from Japan, in addition to Akita International University which joined the WUDC competition for the first time.

The AIU team (Ryuji Okubo and Yamato Komura) was ranked highest among the Japanese teams and #184 in all teams. AIU Debating Society will sure get a better result at its second try next time!
