Nighttime Emergency Drill Conducted on Campus

To ensure a safe and secure communal living environment, the university conducts nighttime emergency drills every semester. We would like to share the details of our most recent drill.
This drill was held under the assumption that a major earthquake occurred during the night.
As soon as the emergency broadcast echoed through the campus, residents evacuated promptly and moved to their designated assembly areas. Once gathered, a roll call was conducted to practice the procedure for confirming the safety of all residents. This exercise served as a vital reminder for everyone to remain calm and act deliberately, even under the challenging conditions of nighttime.
Following the successful completion of the roll call, the Director of Student Affairs delivered a short lecture on key safety precautions and daily disaster preparedness. During the talk, the importance of “self-help”—specifically, each resident maintaining their own personal supply of emergency food—was emphasized. At the conclusion of the drill, the university distributed emergency biscuits to all participants, providing an opportunity for students to renew their commitment to disaster awareness.
After the residents’ portion of the drill concluded, a debriefing session was held between the Student Affairs staff and the Resident Assistants (RAs). The RAs, who were responsible for guiding the evacuation on the ground, shared proactive feedback, including specific areas for improvement and successful aspects of the operation.
The university will continue to work closely with our RAs to maintain a safe environment where all students can focus on their studies and campus life with peace of mind.
