Eligibility

All applicants who wish to apply for the J-CIP:A must meet ALL of the following requirements at the time of application:

Enrollment Status

• ▶ Applicants must be enrolled in a regular university degree program at their home institution BOTH at the time of application and throughout their stay. 
• ▶Applicants from AIU’s partner institutions must have at least ONE full-time semester of grades shown on their transcripts.
• ▶Applicants from other institutions must have at least TWO semesters of grades shown on their transcripts.

GPA

　Applicants must have a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.50 or higher on a 4.00 scale.

Japanese Language Proficiency

This intensive course focuses on communication and discussion, so participants are required to have high-level communication skills, especially speaking and listening, in Japanese. It is desirable to have a Japanese proficiency level equivalent to JLPT N2 or higher (This roughly corresponds to a high B1, close to B2, on the CEFR** scale).
