The global economic crisis and regional conflicts are changing the traditional approach to international cooperation. As the government faces increased pressure on public spending and becomes inward-looking, international development cooperation efforts have increasingly relied on the private sector to explore solutions to various developmental challenges. This lecture focuses on the recent phenomenon of private-sector involvement in working directly with the most vulnerable, ‘the Base-of-the-Pyramid’. |
