要旨 Lecture Summary |
ピアニスト、作曲家として、ロベルト・シューマンとの愛を貫き、彼の妻として、そして8人の子の母親として生きた真実の女性クララ・シューマン。彼女は、過酷な状況の中でも強く美しく生き抜きました。シューマン家に深く関わった作曲家のヨハネス・ブラームスも、クララを語るのに忘れてはならない存在です。クララ生誕200年に当たり、この3人の作曲家の作品をヴァイオリンとピアノで巡ります。そして、美しい演奏に合わせ、クララの生涯と作品の背景について、クリエイティブ・ライティングクラスの生徒たちが朗読します。 Clara Josephine Wieck-Schumann was a German pianist, composer, and wife of the composer Robert Schumann. She lived strongly and beautifully through hardship as a devoted wife and a mother of eight children. When we talk about her life and her works, we should not forget the composer Johannes Brahms who had developed close relationship with the Schumann and kept supporting her personally and professionally after the death of Robert Schumann. This year marks the 200th anniversary of Clara Schumann’s birth. Professor Keiko Abe’s “Music Experience Through Practice” course (MUS221&MUS223), and Professor Miguel Sosa’s “Music We Live By” course (MUS250) are sponsoring a special memorial concert with Ms. Yuko Kusuyama, Pianist. And students from Dr. Mary Frances Agnello’s “Creative Writing” course (ENG176) will narrate a bit of her life and works along to the beautiful violin and piano performance. |
