国際教養大学では、渡辺玲子特任教授のMusic and Performance の授業において次のとおり、公開講義を開催します。講義は英語で行われますが、演奏も十分にお楽しみいただけますので、ぜひお気軽に御参加ください。
Professor Reiko Watanabe’s Music and Performance Course (MUS200) presents a special open guest lecture by Ms. Mari Asakawa, entitled “Great American Composers; performance and lecture”. This lecture is open to all students, faculty and staff at AIU, as well as the public.

既に確立されている傑作を提供しているコンサートに参加するだけではなく、新しい道を追求した優れた現代音楽を聞くよう努力することが重要です。朝川先生の講演・演奏会は、20世紀のピアノ音楽の実力者を知ることができる貴重な機会です。 エリオット・カーターは、現代作品に対する国民の不信感や敵意があった20世紀に革新を追求した天才でした。本講演では、カーターの生涯についてや他アメリカの著名作曲家の話、名ピアニスト朝川先生による生演奏を聞くことができます。 演奏会についての詳細はポスターをご覧ください。 It is important that we make efforts to listen to contemporary music giant who pursued new path, not just attending concerts which offer already established masterpieces, something that we already knew and liked. Lecture and performance by Ms. Asakawa is one of those rare moments when we can learn about a dominant figure in piano music in the 20th century. Elliott CARTER was a genius who pursued innovations in the 20th century when public distrust and even hostility were rampant against contemporary works. This lecture by Ms. Asakawa gives a rare opportunity to listen to the life of CARTER, and most preciously listen to the live performance with other distinguished pieces of American composers by an accomplished pianist such as Ms. Asakawa.
