Housing & Meal Plan

Housing Information

Summer Program students are assigned double rooms in Komachi Residence Hall. Each student will have a chance to have a Japanese roommate and/or suitemate(s): a roommate is a student who shares a room and a bathroom, and a suitemate is a student who shares only a bathroom.

Specific room assignments and information about your roommate/ suitemate(s) will be announced upon your arrival. We are not able to provide information such as name, nationality, and contact address of your roommate/ suitemate(s) in advance. We are not able to offer single rooms except in special circumstances because of limited room availability.

Cafeteria

The Cafeteria is next to the Komachi Residence Hall and offers a ‘Meal Plan Menu,’ a ‘Restaurant Menu,’ and a ‘Menu of the Day’ for students, faculty, and staff members. The program fee includes a meal plan at the Cafeteria;  breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served to the summer program students. Students who wish to have meals outside of the meal plan, such as when staying on-campus after the check-out day at the end of the program, can have meals at the Cafeteria on a cash basis.

Meal Plan

The meal plan begins with dinner on the first day of the program, and runs through lunch on the last day of the program. We will try to make arrangements in order to meet students’ dietary requests or needs. Please provide any relevant detailed information in the online application and the separate Dietary Needs Survey.
