Visa Information

The requirements for a visa to enter Japan differ by nationality, place of residence, the purpose of visit, and the length of intended period of stay. Please check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website (link below) to see if you are required to obtain a visa: https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/short/novisa.html 

If your country does NOT have a visa exemption agreement with Japan or if you have any questions about visas, please contact the nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate in your country or the country where you reside.

Please note that while AIU will provide supporting documents to any Summer Program participants who require any such documents, it is the participant’s sole responsibility to apply for and obtain their visa.
