Housing & Meal Plan

Housing Information

Summer Program students are assigned double rooms in Komachi Residence Hall. Each student will have a chance to have a Japanese roommate and/or suitemate(s): a roommate is a student who shares a room and a bathroom, and a suitemate is a student who shares only a bathroom.

Specific room assignments and information about your roommate/ suitemate(s) will be announced upon your arrival. We are not able to provide the information such as name, nationality, and contact address of your roommate/ suitemate(s) in advance. We are not able to offer single rooms except in special circumstances because of limited room availability.

Check-in Date:Monday, June 19, 2023 (9:30 am – 4:00 pm)
*Students may NOT check in before June 19.
First Meal Provided: Lunch on Monday, June 19
Check-out Date:Friday, July 28, 2023 (3:00 pm – 5:00 pm)
  • The last day of the Summer Program is Friday, July 28.All students must be present for their Bedding and Room Inspection from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm on July 28, and so students may NOT check-out before 3:00 pm on July 28.
Last Meal Provided: Lunch on Friday, July 28 

Saturday, July 29, 2023 to Monday, July 31, 2023 (9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
  • Students are allowed to stay at Komachi Residence Hall after July 28 if they wish. However, they will need to pay for their own meals in cash on their own for all meals starting from dinner on July 28.
  • All students are required to check out during the designated times mentioned above ONLY. Students leaving before 9:00 am must check out during the check-out time (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) THE DAY BEFORE, and arrange for their accommodation on their own for that night.
  • All students are required to check out by 5:00 pm on Monday, July 31.

Meal Plan

The program fee includes a meal plan at the Cafeteria, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to residential students. The meal plan begins with lunch on Monday, June 19, 2023, and runs through lunch on Friday, July 28, 2023. We will try to make arrangements in order to meet students’ dietary requests or needs. Please provide any relevant detailed information in the online application and the separate Dietary Needs Survey. Students who plan to stay after July 28, will have to pay for meals on a cash basis for any extra days.
