Taking an airplane to get to Akita Airport: 65 minutes from Tokyo, 65 minutes from Sapporo, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Nagoya, and 1 hour and 25 minutes from Osaka. Taking the Akita Komachi JR Bullet Train to get to JR Akita Station: 3 hours and 45 minutes from Tokyo, 2 hours and 15 minutes from Sendai.

If you are coming by train, the JR Wada Station is the nearest station. A direct bus is available from there, which will take you to AIU in about 15 minutes. If you are coming from JR Akita Station, you can take either taxi or bus. The former takes about 30 minutes, while in the latter case you need to change buses at the Aeon Mall Akita bus terminal. The time on the bus, in this case, totals to about 45 minutes. For those coming from Akita Airport, it takes about 10 minutes using a taxi. On the other hand, if you are using the highway, the Akita Airport Exit of Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway is the closest exit, which is located at a 5-minute distance by car from the university.

  • Try to reduce the risk of infection by refraining from having loud conversations while on buses.

The bus service will be operated only between AIU and the AEON Mall. Bus between AEON Mall and JR Yotsugoya Station is no longer available.
