Elementary Japanese Program Online (E-JapON) has begun!
On June 16, 2021, AIU welcomed 10 international students from 6 universities in 4 countries for the elementary Japanese Program Online (E-JapON). Every year, AIU holds a short-term intensive Japanese language program for international students in summer, but last year it was cancelled due to COVID-19. This year, we are delighted to be able to hold this program online!
At the opening ceremony, Vice-President Yoshitaka Kumagai, faculty and staff members gave welcome messages and then introduced AIU and Akita to the participants while broadcasting a live campus tour on Zoom. The participants also seemed to be looking forward to this program even online.
During the six weeks of the program, the participants are divided into two courses according to their level to study Japanese language intensively in small groups and learn Japanese culture such as tea ceremony and flower arrangement. They will also have conversation classes with Japanese students and take part in a virtual tour of Yokote City.
We hope that the participants enjoy learning Japanese language and Japanese culture in our new virtual summer program.
